3500 KW Allison 501 KB5 Gas Turbine CO-GEN Plant.
Complete Cogeneration plant, disassembled and stored. Built by Turbosystems, Int’l.
Consists of the following components:
Generating module installed in a sound attenuated weatherproof enclosure, with locking doors. Containing the following components:
1 each, Allison 501KB-5 gas turbine, serial no. ASP-1073. horsepower at sea level, 5263, kw 3925. 14,200 rpm. Fuel is natural gas or liquid. NOX emissions controlled by 8:1 water injection system. NOX in the 20-25 PPM range.
1 each, MAAG, Type PF3-26, Ser. 729198-02 5220 kw, Epicyclical gear box. 14,400: 1800 RPM.
1each 3500 kw General Electric generator, Type ATI, Custom 8000, 1800 rpm, 4160 volts, .607 Amps. Fr. 8511, Ser. HX8431406. Brushless exciter. Internal space heaters.
1 each, water wash system, Halon fire control, hydraulic reservoir , oil cooler, misc. controls. stainless steel expansion bellows, hoisting system for servicing engine, etc.
External Components:
1 each, inlet air filter system with evaporative air cooler, ducted to a stainless steel air intake manifold. American Air filter Co. Model 5x6RDH-S-7, Ser. No. 417-403-01
1 each diesel hydraulic starting sytem with White 6 cylinder, turbocharged engine, driving hydraulic pump, 3000 psi, 500 gal. diesel fuel tank. Hoist for service is provided.
1 each diverter valve assembly, muffler and stack. Manufactured by Bachmann Industries, with BaileyAP2 positioner., and stainless steel expansion joints. Includes Moore electronic valve positioner control, model 760E132ANNF.
1 each ABCO Industries, waste heat boiler, with , economizer and stack. Space is provided for future duct burner.
Boiler is capable of 22,000 lbs./ hr. using heat from turbine exhaust, 43,200 lbs./hr. with addition of duct burner, design pressure 150 psig, 450 deg. F. Serial No. 8432, 11,434 squ. Ft. heating surf. Dearator. Boiler controls include Levelarm, Foxboro level controller 43HP-FA42D, Mod. 557 computer and flow controller.
2 each Speedaire instrument air compressors, 5 hp, model 37492A.
1- Polymetrics water treatment system, reverse osmosis, model N-TFC1042H, ser. 2184 With fiberglass tank approx. 3500 gallons.
1 each Johnson Controls DSC 8500 Digital Systems control system. Order no. 3011-0023-7, G.E. Fanuc system PLC. Includes the following components:
G.E. Fanuc PLC, IBM computer, model 50Z with CTX monitor,& IBM Proprinter 2 , Bendix Energy Controls turbine and generator controls. Vibramation vibration controls. Meters and gauges include lube oil pressure & temperature, gearbox oil pressure,generator winding temperature,frequency, kw, amps, volts, speed control, frequency adjust, regulator voltage adjust, droop adjust, megawatt, megavars,(3) synchrrosope, voltage, utility inputA&B, cogen output, 3 each Power Measurement, LTD, 3300 ACM controllers, Moore steam flow control & water injection control, steam psi controls,air inlet, fuel ratio and inlet air temp. controls, etc. Interior panel components include Basler under/over voltage relays, Basler automatic synchroniser, Basler motor operated potentiometer, Basler voltage regulatoer, etc. New battery, battery charger.

1 each Russelectric , main power and utility metering panel. Westinghouse 50DHP250 circuit breaker, with the following protective relaying; 1-CO8 overcurrent relay, 3-CA differential relays, 2 CW power relays1-COQ negative sequence relay, and 3-COV9 voltage relays.
1 lot parts manuals, drawings, maintenance manuals, specifications, calculations, repair records, construction records, photos and written correspondence records.
The plant had extensive rebuilding, the engine by NAC, in Oakland. Work done in ’94-5
